Dr. Joseph Battin, Jr.

Dr. Joseph Battin, Jr. is the son of Joseph Battin Sr. and grandson of James Battin. Born and raised in Hamburg and a graduate of Canisius High School, Dr. Battin earned a B.S. degree in Molecular Biology at Syracuse University.

He continued his education at the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO), where he earned his O.D. in 2010. Upon his return to Buffalo, Dr. Battin joined the Battin Eyecare practice and worked with his father to open the business’s second location.

Dr. Carey Jane (C.J.) Murzynski

Dr. Murzynski is a proud Hamburg, NY native with a passion for primary eye care for all ages, including pediatrics. During her time at SUNY College of Optometry, Dr. Murzynski was a member of the American Optometric Student Association and served as the President of the school’s student chapter of the New York State Optometric Association. She completed her clinical rotations in a variety of settings, including the Buffalo VA. In her other clinical rotations throughout New York City, she worked in pediatric optometry, gaining extensive experience in specialty areas including vision therapy, myopia management, and specialty contact lenses.

Throughout her clinical experience, Dr. Murzynski has seen first-hand how good vision and visual skills impact a child’s development. She is committed to helping children reach their potential, from prescribing the right pair of glasses for a child who is too young to express their visual complaints to training children’s visual systems for current and future success.

Michele Zak

Michele Zak has been an optician for 25 years and has proudly been part of the Battin Eyecare family for 13 years, calling it her “second home.” A graduate of the ECC Ophthalmic Dispensing Program in 1999, Michele is passionate about patient care, taking the time to understand each patient’s personality to help them select frames that perfectly fit their style and identity. Outside of work, Michele enjoys working out and baking. She has been happily married to her husband, Mike, for 23 years and is the proud mother of two children.
